Delete your TechTok account

You can delete your TechTok account and everything stored with it at any time. You do not need to ask permission, and you do not need to give a reason.
If you still have the app installed
This is the fastest route, and it takes effect immediately.
- Open TechTok.
- Go to Settings, then Account.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
You will be signed out as soon as it finishes. There is no waiting period and no recovery window — the data is gone at that point, so make sure you mean it.
If you have already uninstalled the app
Email privacy@techtokapp.eu from the same address you used to sign in with Google, and ask for your account to be deleted. Sending it from that address is what proves the account is yours; a request from any other address cannot be honoured, because there would be no way to tell whose account it is.
Requests are handled within 30 days, and normally much sooner.
What gets deleted
Everything TechTok holds about you, specifically:
- Your account record — Google account identifier, email address, display name, and time zone.
- Your entire reading history.
- All of your bookmarks.
- Your preferences — language, followed topics, and muted sources.
- Your topic-affinity counts and daily usage counters.
Deleting your account inside the app also clears the copies held on your phone. If you delete by email after uninstalling, the app is already gone from the device, and with it the local cache.
What is not deleted
News articles, their summaries and their translations stay in the service. These are not personal data and are not specific to you — every reader sees the same summaries, and they are produced when an article is published, not when you read it. Nothing linking any article to you survives the deletion.
Server logs may retain ordinary technical records, such as request timestamps, for a short operational period. These are not used to reconstruct a deleted account.
Deleting your account elsewhere
Deleting your TechTok account does not touch your Google account, which is managed by Google. If you want to remove TechTok's access to your Google profile as well, you can do that from your Google account's third-party access settings.
